Oregon's Lynn Peterson Named State Transportation Secretary

Olympia, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Governor Jay Inslee is naming an Oregon official as the state's next transportation secretary.

The "News Tribune" reports Lynn Peterson is currently a highway engineer and former chairwoman of the Clackamas Board of County Commissioners in suburban Portland.

She now serves as an advisor to Oregon's governor on sustainable communities and transportation policy.

In making the move, Inslee chose Peterson over Secretary Paula Hammond, who headed up the Department of Transportation for more than five years.
