Inslee Calls For Senate Vote On Abortion Coverage Measure

Olympia, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Governor Jay Inslee is pushing the state Senate to put an abortion-related bill up for a vote.

The Democratic governor told a rally of abortion-rights supporters at the capitol that the bill, which would require most insurers to provide coverage for abortions, deserves a vote in the GOP-dominated Senate.

Senate Republicans who oppose the bill have blocked attempts to have it heard in committee.

The Democrat-dominated House is considering its own version of the measure.
