Report: Lakers owner Buss in hospital with cancer

(Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss reportedly has cancer and is currently surrounded by family and friends at his hospital bedside.

RadarOnline.com, which cites a source close to the situation, is reporting that Buss is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

"Jerry isn't doing well and it's quite sad, but he's surrounded by loved ones," the insider told RadarOnline.com.

"The cancer is just too much and it looks like this is the end for him."

Buss' cancer was learned previously by the OC Register but not published out of respect for the Buss family's wishes.

Buss, 79, purchased the Lakers in 1979 and has been at the helm of the franchise for 10 of their 16 NBA championships.
