Bellingham Schools And WWU Partner Up For Students

Bellingham, Wash. -- A partnership between the Bellingham School District and Western Washington University is working to ensure success for students in our community.

Superintendent of the Bellingham School District, Dr. Greg Baker says the District and Western have had an ongoing partnership for years.

Baker says the schools try to help impoverished students by ensuring meals, counselors and school supplies are available.

Baker says the next step is getting preschool universally accessible.

He says preschool is important to getting children ready to enter elementary school at the same education level.
