Possible Luring Attempt In Lynden

Lynden, Wash. -- County Deputies are investigating a possible child luring attempt in Lynden.

The Sheriff’s Office says that earlier this week a teenage boy was walking home after school near Badger and Sunrise roads when he was approached by a disheveled white man in his 30s.

Deputies say the man offered the student a ride in his car, but the boy refused.

The suspect then drove away.

The man is said to drive a black Honda Civic hatchback and could be living out of his car.

Authorities say this case is unrelated to an incident on the same day when a young girl reported an older man driving slowly past  her as she waited for the bus on Zell Road in Ferndale.

Anyone with information about the identity of the driver who spoke to the Lynden teen is asked to call 911.
