Loaded Revolver Found In Carry-On Bag At Bellingham Airport
Bellingham, Wash. (Metro) -- Another case of a loaded gun in a carry-on bag, this time at Bellingham International Airport.
Officials say a man bound for Reno brought the bag to the airport yesterday.
A routine screening revealed a loaded .22-caliber Derringer handgun.
After he was questioned, the man was allowed to board the flight after he handed the gun off to someone who wasn't traveling.
The TSA says firearms, ammunition, firearm parts and realistic replicas of firearms are always prohibited in carry-on baggage.
However, these items can be transported in checked baggage provided the traveler declares them to the airline during the ticket counter check-in process.
