Guns Linked To Lummi Island Burglary

Lummi Island, Wash. -- A Seattle man is facing a slew of charges after authorities say he burglarized
a home on Lummi Island and fired guns while ransacking the scene of the crime.

23-year-old Lucas Kudner was first arrested on January 13 after he allegedly assaulted his mother at the home she rented on Harmony Lane.

Whatcom County sheriff’s deputies later discovered that a home down the street had been burglarized and four firearms stolen.

The guns were the same guns that Kudner had at the time of his arrest.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says stopping people who use firearms during a felony is a high priority of the Sheriff’s office.

Deputies searched Kudner’s mother’s home and found jewelry, chainsaws, ammunition, and other items that were stolen from the ransacked home.

Elfo says Kudner stole about $25,000 in property and caused nearly $9,000 in damage to the home.
