Senators Tell Obama To Approve San Juan Monument

Seattle, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell told President Obama Monday that he must approve the proposed San Juan Islands monument now.

"Seattlepi.com" says they and other members of Congress feel the President has done too little to protect public lands.

U.S. House Natural Resources Chair Doc Hastings of Central Washington opposes the designation and has legislation for it bottled up.
