Democrat Suzan Delbene from Washington's first district voted for the extension yesterday.
Delbene says she's disappointed that lawmakers aren't fixing the country's debt problems at a faster pace.
Delbene says congress needs to come up with a real budget right away. Democrat Rick Larsen from Washington's 2nd District voted against the extension, saying "all this bill does is set up yet another fiscal cliff in a few months’ time."
The Republican bill passed the house 285 to 144, and would suspend all congress members' pay if they don't come up with a budget by April 15.
