Procession Honors Everson Police Chief Erik Ramstead

WHATCOM, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Law enforcement authorities across Whatcom County are remembering Everson Police Chief Erik Ramstead.

The Herald reports that despite the winter weather, about 100 people lined the streets of Noosak yesterday morning as a procession of family and law enforcement vehicles passed by.

In Everson, twice as many residents turned out.

The procession ended at Assumption Catholic Church in Bellingham, where a memorial Mass was held.

Ramstead died last week at the age of 50 following a battle with cancer.
