Events All Over County Celebrate Dr. King

WHATCOM, Wash. -- Today's celebration at City Hall is among many local events scheduled to honor Dr. King and his contributions.

You can help restore habitat and plant native shrubs at Maritime Heritage Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with volunteers from the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department and the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association.

Those interested in helping should check in at the blue tents at the north end of C Street near the fish hatchery.

Gloves and tools will be provided, as well as free refreshments and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

Information about other ways to help out the community can be found on the Whatcom volunteer center website at www.whatcomvolunteer.org.
