FAA Grounds All 787's

WASHINGTON D.C.  (Metro)  -- The Federal Aviation Administration orders the grounding of all domestic 787 Dreamliners, saying airlines shouldn't fly the jet until Boeing can demonstrate the aircraft's lithium ion batteries are in compliance with safety regulations.

The move was announced after All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines grounded their fleets of 787's.  .

A battery malfunction warning and the smell of smoke aboard an ANA 787 earlier this week forced an emergency landing in Japan.

The FAA's order affects only six planes, all flown by United Airlines.
