Bellingham Farmer's Market Expands Season

Bellingham, WA (KGMI)  -- If you love the Bellingham Farmer’s Market, now you can enjoy it all year round.

The market which features over thirty farmers, food producers and artists announced this week that it will be open the third Saturday of each month during this Winter.

The expanded season will start this coming weekend and continue through March leading up to the market’s official season opening in April.

Farmer's Market Director Caprice Teske says the Winter months can often be challenging for farmers to deliver quality produce to the market.

But she says by working with farmers who primarily use greenhouses and hoop houses will allow for year round consistency.

Teske says that “Buy Local” and “Eat Local” campaigns in our area have pushed organizers to expand the market season.

Winter hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
