Three Snohomish County Residents Die Of Flu

EVERETT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- One of the earliest flu seasons on record is already responsible for three deaths in Snohomish County.

Officials with the Snohomish Health District confirm that three women, one in her 40s and two in their 80s, all died in December.

The number of people hospitalized with the flu this season is 52, which already exceeds the total number of cases for each of the last two years.

District officials say the numbers are concerning, and physicians recommend immunization for anyone over the age of six months.
