Local Farmers Get New Voice In D.C.

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Farmers in our region have a new advocate in the nation’s capitol.

U.S. government officials recently announced that Washington 1st District Congresswoman Suzan Delbene has been appointed to the house agriculture committee--her second committee assignment for the 113th congress that took office last week.

In her new position, Delbene will help draft policies that will support our nation’s agricultural production and ensure wide access to safe food and agricultural products.

Appointment comes on the heels of being named to the house judiciary committee last month.
