Drunk Drivers Say "Cheese"

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Washington residents with vehicle interlocks will soon be saying “cheese” every time they get into their cars.

As of tomorrow, every time those accused or convicted of impaired driving try to blow into their car interlock devices, a miniature camera will snap a picture.

The Washington State Patrol has made the move to ensure that vehicle owners are the ones taking the test.

State Patrol Sgt. Ken Denton says that in many cases impaired drivers will ask a spouse, child or friend to do it for them.

He also says that the state has issued nearly 25,000 ignition interlock licenses to allow people to work and perform activities that require them to have a vehicle.
