National Corporation Takes Local Interest

FERNDALE, Wash. -- The Ferndale Library project gets a funding bump from a national corporation.

The Whatcom Community Foundation announced last week that the Phillips 66 Ferndale Refinery delivered a $25 thousand check to the City of Ferndale at this week’s Chamber of Commerce meeting.

As a result of an anonymous donor match through the Whatcom Community Foundation, the funds will be doubled, inching the project forward at an even faster rate.

Foundation president and CEO Mauri Ingram says that while Phillips 66 is a large company, it has had a vested interest in Ferndale through donations of library books.

She also says that its employees have been very active as volunteers throughout the community.
