LYNDEN, Wash. -- Country music heartthrob Hunter Hayes will be performing at next year's Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.

Fair manager Jim Baron has made it official that the 21-year-old Hayes will be the featured grandstand entertainment at the fair on Thursday, August 15.

Hayes was declared the Best New Artist of 2012 by the Country Music Association.

He is also nominated for three Grammy Awards, including Best Country Solo Performance for his hit song “Wanted."

Tickets for the Hayes show go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. Friday through the fair's web site, www.nwwafair.com.

Baron says grandstand entertainment for the other nights of the fair, scheduled August 12-17, will be announced next year.
