Jack Frost Brings More Winter Storms To WA

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Another storm system is expected to bring strong winds on the coast and more snow for the mountains of northwest Washington.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning through 7 p.m. tonight for western Whatcom County, western Skagit County and the San Juan Islands.

Meteorologist Art Gaebel with the National Weather Service says it looks like a typical storm system for this time of year - bringing heavy wind and rain to downtown Bellingham, and snow in the higher elevations.

He says Bellingham could see southeast winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

Winds this strong can take down trees and power lines, and damage some buildings.

he strongest winds will likely be during the early morning and again in the afternoon.
