Motorcyclist Injured In Crash Mount Baker Highway

WHATCOM, Wash. -- A motorcyclist is hospitalized after a crash on Mount Baker highway.

State Patrol says 24-year-old Michael Stoothoff was riding eastbound on the highway yesterday afternoon when a 52-year-old truck driver made a left turn in front of him.

Stoothoff struck the side of Steven Miller’s Ford pickup causing some damage to the truck, but totaling the motorcycle.

Stoothoff was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

Miller was not injured and was able to drive his truck away from the scene.

Troopers says the accident was caused by a failure to yield, but are still investigating who should be charged.
