Traffic Congestion Expected in Ferndale

Ferndale, WA -- Expect huge traffic delays in Ferndale.

Detours due to the Nooksack River Bridge closure on Slater Road are expected to have a huge impact on Ferndale businesses.

With traffic being re-routed through Main Street, city officials say they have already seen an uptick in downtown traffic and are looking at the possibility and costs of changing stoplight timing to ease congestion.

Ferndale City Clerk and Community Information Officer Sam Taylor recommends using delays to stop in downtown and take advantage of what the city has to offer.
He also asked for people's patience as officials work to address the issue.
