Gay Marriage, Marijuana Measures Take Effect Thursday

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Washington's voter-approved same-sex marriage and marijuana-legalization measures take effect this Thursday.

"The Everett Herald" says county auditors are expecting a wave of marriage license applications.

Regarding marijuana, "The Seattle Times" quotes a University of Washington student as predicting that pot use among young people won't change because the drug is already fully-available.
