Proponents Show Up Strong At GPT Scoping Meeting

FERNDALE, Wash. -- Proponents of a new coal shipping terminal turned out in force at a public meeting in Ferndale Thursday, Nov. 29.

Opponents of the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal may have had greater numbers at the scoping meeting, but people in favor of the project got there early and signed up for a bigger number of speaking periods.

The scoping meeting was an opportunity for members of the community to voice their concerns as officials decide how expansive the environmental review of the project should be.
