UW Dumps Adidas Contract After Student Protests

SEATTLE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- The University of Washington has canceled its sports apparel contract with Adidas after a nearly year-long campaign by students.

The students said the company was violating the labor rights of overseas workers.

Last year, the contract meant about $3,000 in royalties for the UW.

"The Seattle Times" says several other U.S. universities have also ended their contracts with Adidas.
