Ferndale School Board Honored

FERNDALE, Wash. -- The Ferndale School Board is being honored for living up to high standards that lead to high achievement in students.

The Washington State School Directors’ Association has selected the Ferndale School District as one of the "School Boards of the Year."

Ferndale received the honor along with the Marysville and Prescott School Districts for demonstrating effective use of the washington school board standards.

The announcement was made at the association's annual conference in Spokane earlier this month.

Ferndale School Board members had to submit an essay showing how they're developing a district plan focused on learning and helping all students achieve their best.

The school boards of the year each get a $500 award to use as they see fit.
