WHATCOM, Wash. -- Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Slater Road Thursday night.

The State Patrol reports 66-year-old Myra Kubic of Ferndale was driving southbound on Imhoff Road at about 6:30 p.m. when she made a wide right turn onto Slater Road, colliding head-on with a pick-up truck traveling east.

Kubic and the driver of the pick-up, 39-year-old Marcus Souza of Bellingham, were injured and transported to the hospital.

Trooper Keith Leary says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The accident blocked Slater Road for a number of hours.
