Man Arrested After String Of Birch Bay Burglaries

BIRCH BAY, Wash. -- The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office has caught a man suspected in the recent string of burglaries in the Birch Bay area.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 32-year-old Jacob Dezarn of Blaine last Friday.

Undersheriff Jeff Parks says Dezarn distributed stolen property from the burglaries, and participated in some of the break-ins as well.

He says investigators found $8,800 worth of stolen property at Dezarn's home on leeside drive.

The stolen items, which included one firearm, came from 14 different burglaries, vehicle prowls and thefts in the Birch Bay area over the summer.

Parks says some local young men were arrested in September for their involvement in some of the burglaries and thefts, and more arrests could be coming in the future as the investigation progresses.
