Burlington Man Pleads Not Guilty To Charge Of Attempted Murder

SKAGIT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- A plea of not guilty is entered in Skagit County Superior Court by 30-year-old Hector Garcia-Pelayo, who faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder.

The defendant is accused of slashing the neck of his girlfriend, who was found October 5 crawling out of a wooded area near the Skagit-Whatcom county line.

Court records say Garcia-Pelayo turned himself in to police and told them he had killed his girlfriend.
The woman recovered after an emergency blood transfusion.
