Lawmakers Say State Must Study Coal Train Impacts

SEATTLE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Four Washington lawmakers say the state must study all possible impacts of long coal trains that may soon pass through Seattle's waterfront on its way to China.

"Seattlepi.com" says coal companies and railroads are now using TV ads to downplay the effects of the trains.

Some experts have said there could be as many as 60 trains a day.

BNSF Railway recently told the "Puget Sound Business Journal" the number would be more like 18.
