Rod Stewart forgot to include mother's funeral in memoirs

Rod Stewart has been left mortified after forgetting to write about his mother's funeral in his autobiography.

The "Maggie May" hitmaker was astonished when he realised his error, and has blamed the oversight on the drama of his Scottish father's passing six years earlier, in 1990.

The singer only realised the glaring omission when it was pointed out to him during an interview with The Times Magazine.

He says, "I didn't (mention it)? That's terrible... Oh Christ Almighty, what an oversight. Oh man, me (my) big brother's gonna (going to) kill me... Do you know I forgot to mention me (my) mum's passing? I can't believe it... (My father's) passing was more dramatic and terrible for me."
