Waterspout Touches Down On Puget Sound

EVERETT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- The National Weather Service says a rarity occurred over the weekend in the Puget Sound near Everett.

A waterspout was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday near Hat Island in Possession Sound.

The weather service says the waterspout touched down and churned through the water for about 30 seconds before vanishing, then briefly reformed before disappearing again.

The waterspout never reached land.
