Food Drive Goal Still A Ways Away

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The 2012 "Feed the Need" community food drive wraps up today, and we still have a long way to go before reaching our donation goal.

As of last night, we had collected just over 182,000 pounds of food.

Our goal this year is to raise 300,000 pounds.

Mike Cohen with the Bellingham food bank says the need this year is bigger than ever.

He says more than 1 in 6 households in Whatcom County regularly uses one of the food banks.

Donations are being accepted through the end of today at any Haggen or Industrial Credit Union location, or online at www.communityfooddrive.com.
