Compass 2 Campus To Bring 900 Fifth Graders to WWU

BELLINGHAM, Wash.  (Metro)  -- About 900 fifth graders from Skagit and Whatcom counties will be visiting Western Washington University next Tuesday.

The goal is to give the kids a chance to see first-hand what a university campus is like.

Professors with specialties ranging from music to marine biology will open their doors to these students.

Former NASA astronaut John Herrington will present two sessions to fifth graders interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
