SPEEA Now Reported Preparing For Strike

EVERETT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- There's a report that Boeing's engineer's union, SPEEA, has all but given up on contract talks and is quietly preparing for a strike.

"The Everett Herald" says there have been few discussions since union members almost unanimously rejected Boeing's first contract offer two weeks ago, and the union has unfair labor practice charges pending.

Publicly, the union says it is still committed to talks, but wants members to talk to colleagues who participated in the union's 40 day strike against Boeing in 2000.
