Halfway To Feed The Need Goal, KGMI Looks At Blaine Food Bank

BLAINE, Wash. -- In Whatcom County nearly 35,000 people are unsure where their next meal will come from.

Blaine food bank volunteer Jerry Bladies has seen the face of the community’s hungry while volunteering for the past 12 years.

When he started they were serving 100 families per week, now they serve 330.

The Blaine food bank covers a huge area, from Blaine, halfway to Lynden, Birch Bay and Custer areas.

Join the Cascade Radio Group, Haggen stores and ICU for the feed the need community food drive as we are determined to raise 300,000 pounds of food for Whatcom County’s food banks by the end of the day Friday.

As of last night, we’ve reached a total of 134,691 pounds.
