Port Exec. Director Candidates Unveiled

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The candidates for the next leader of the Port of Bellingham will be revealed Tuesday.

The Port Commission will introduce the finalists for the executive director position during their meeting at 3 p.m. at the Harbor Center meeting room.

The Port's former executive director, Charlie Sheldon, resigned in April after Commissioner Scott Walker accused him of wasting money by sending a Port official and a consultant to a conference the Bahamas.

The Port's financial officer Rob Fix has been serving as the interim executive director since then.

Commissioners are expected to schedule a public meet and greet with the new finalists after Tuesday's meeting.
