Man Arrested After Stabbing Roommate In Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A Bellingham man suspected of stabbing his roommate has been arrested after police found him hiding in his mother's trailer in Marietta.

Twenty-one-year-old Brett Hoffman is in Whatcom County jail facing felony assault charges.

Bellingham police say he stabbed his 50-year-old roommate in the stomach on Monday at their home on Beal Street.

Sergeant Ken Brown says a hunting knife was found at the home, and Hoffman fled after the stabbing.

The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office then received an anonymous tip that Hoffman may be hiding at his mother's trailer on Marine Drive.

Hoffman's mother could be facing charges of rendering criminal assistance.
