40 Companies Charged In Foreclosure Rescue Investigation

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Washington's Department of Financial Institutions is moving against 40 out-of-state businesses that they say are preying on Washington homeowners facing foreclosure.

The department says the businesses are basically attorneys who are not licensed to practice in Washington.

Some have already left the state.

The department says it continues to get complaints from people who say they've been defrauded by foreclosure-rescue scammers.
