Cows Die In Car Crash On I-90

SEATTLE, Wash. -- A truck driver from Bellingham spilled a container full of cattle on Interstate 90 in Seattle Saturday morning, killing nearly half of the cows inside.

Troopers say the 53-year-old Bellingham man was not speeding when the trailer flipped.

The container fell off the truck and rolled onto its side at about 8:15 near 18th Avenue South.

Troopers decided that the only option was to slowly roll the container back upright, and finish trucking the cows to their destination where they could be checked out by a veterinarian.

Traffic on I-90 was delayed for about three hours while troopers and tow truck drivers cleaned up the scene.
