Burlington Man Slashes Womans Throat, Leaves Her To Die



WHATCOM, Wash. -- A Burlington man is in custody after police say he slashed a woman’s throat and left her to die.

The 20-year-old woman crawled from a wooded area near the Whatcom/Skagit County line on Friday and was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham where she is recovering.

The 30-year-old suspect, who was in a relationship with the woman, was arrested in eastern Washington on Saturday and was scheduled to be transferred to Skagit County yesterday.
