BELLINGHAM, Wash. (Metro) -- Ground beef sold at Haggen and Top Food stores between September 3 and 23 is being recalled as a precaution against the possibility of an E. coli outbreak.
Haggen Northwest Fresh, which operates the stores, is recalling all ground beef sold at the stores during the period.
The USDA issued a warning yesterday relative to beef imported from Canada XL Foods, which supplied the product to Haggen and Top Food.
Haggen says no one has reported becoming sick from the beef, but the recall is being issued after a random sampling of the ground beef tested positive for a strain of E. coli.
