Boeing Delivers United Airlines' First 787



EVERETT, Wash.  (Metro)  -- United Airlines is taking delivery of its first Boeing Co. 787, making it the first carrier in North America to operate a Dreamliner. 

The "Herald" reports United has a total of 50 787s on order. 

United is the sixth airline to receive a Boeing 787, joining All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Chile's LAN and Air India. 

United plans to fly the Dreamliner to its Houston hub sometime this week.
