Tentative Deal Reached With State Employees

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- A tentative agreement is reached between negotiators for Governor Christine Gregoire and the Washington Federation of State Employees on a new two-year contract.

The deal calls for reversing three-percent pay cuts made during the past two years.

It would also include a one-percent pay raise in the second year if state revenues exceed projections.

Union members will decide whether to accept the new contract when they vote online September 28.
