Tacoma Man To Be Released From Nicaraguan Prison

TACOMA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- A Tacoma man who has been imprisoned in Nicaragua for more than two years is set to be released after his conviction was annulled.

That's according to Brad Chase, who handles public relations for the family of 35-year-old Jason Puracal.

Puracal was taken into custody by Nicaraguan authorities who raided his real estate office in San Juan del Sur in November 2010.

He was found guilty of money-laundering, drug-trafficking, and organized crime, and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
