Man Faces Trial In 55-Year Old Murder Case

SYCAMORE, Ill.  (Metro)  -- The man accused of killing a 7-year-old Sycamore girl back in 1957 is facing trial.

Jack McCullough is charged with kidnapping Maria Ridulph while she was playing outside her home with friends.

He then allegedly killed the girl and dumped her body about 120 miles away from her home.

The former police officer was arrested in Seattle, Washington last year and extradited to Illinois.

He says he did not commit the crime.
