WHATCOM, Wash. -- Three Bellingham men were hospitalized after falling into a crevasse while climbing on Ruth Mountain near the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest yesterday.

Sgt. George Ratayczak with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s department says one of the climbers called 911 at about 10:45 a.m. to report that the three had fallen into the crevasse, and he had been able to scramble out…

Rescuers responded with several helicopters, pulled the men out of the crevasse and transported them to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center with serious injuries.

The climbers are identified as Anthony Fiorillo, Keith Lemay and Jefferson Morris.
