Bellingham Man In Jail Suspected 100 Counts Identity Theft

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A Bellingham man is in jail on suspicion of more than 100 counts of identity theft.

Frankie Mazzei was arrested last Thursday after police say a search warrant revealed piles of stolen mail, checks and credit cards in his McKenzie Avenue home.

Bellingham Police spokesman Mark Young says they believe all of the documents were stolen from victims in our community.

Mazzei is charged with 113 counts of second-degree identity theft and 99 counts of possession of stolen property.

Young says anyone who suspects they have had mail stolen in recent weeks especially in south Bellingham should file a police report.
