Dangerous Local Arrested In Canada

SURREY, B.C. -- Whatcom County Sheriff’s Deputies are thanking the community for their help in locating a dangerous suspect.

Thirty-two-year-old Blaine resident Stephen Sivo was taken into custody by Her Majesty's Canadian Customs and Border Security Agency in Surrey, B.C. late Tuesday.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says Sivo has several criminal charges against him including second and fourth degree assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

The charges stem from multiple domestic violence incidents.

One of which almost killed a former girlfriend when he slammed on his vehicle’s emergency break while going about 95 miles per hour, causing the car to roll over.

The woman suffered life-threatening permanent injuries.

Sivo remains in custody pending his return to the U.S.
