Ferndale Mayor Responds To Water Complaints

The mayor of Ferndale is responding to complaints about the city's new water source.

Mayor Gary Jensen says even experts were surprised by the hardness of the water coming from the city's wells.

Hard water has a high level of minerals, which can leave spots and have a slippery texture.

Mayor Jensen says the city is testing water hardness levels, and is experimenting with solutions such as alternating between the two wells and installing equipment to soften the water.

He says the city hopes to find a solution that will not significantly increase resident's water bills.
