Bellingham PD Reopens Cold Case, Releases Sketch



BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Bellingham Police are reviving an attempted kidnapping and rape cold case with a sketch of the suspect.

The victim was attacked on June 9.

Spokesman Mark young says a 24-year-old woman was walking alone early that morning on north state street when she saw the suspect.

He is described as white, late 20s to early 30s and about six feet tall with a stocky build.

He pushed her into an alcove, pulled out a knife and sexually assaulted her.

He then started dragging her to a parked truck described as either an older white dodge Dakota or a newer Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab, truck bed utility box and mud flaps.

The woman screamed and was able to get away. Anyone with information is asked to contact the belling police department.
